General terms and conditions Eindhoven Dakar

When you place an online order at Piet Hein Eek’s Eindhoven Dakar webshop, you declare that you agree to the terms and conditions below:

Order confirmation

Once you have placed an order with us, you will receive an order confirmation via e-mail. On the order confirmation you will find an overview of the items ordered and their costs, including any shipping costs and VAT.

Ordering, payment and delivery of products

Every order in our webshop results in a payment obligation.

You pay in our webshop via iDEAL or by credit card, no additional charges will be charged for this.

When the full amount (unless otherwise agreed) is in our account, your order will be presented to PostNL or similar parcel service for shipment within a few days. You will be notified as soon as your order has been shipped. After your order has been shipped, we have no further influence on the delivery of your package and are entirely dependent on the deliveries by and services of PostNL or another parcel service.

Parcel post is generally delivered within 1 to 2 business days from the time your parcel is picked up by the carrier. We have 1 pickup time during the week: on Wednesdays.

Your package will be delivered 1 time to the specified (home) address. If it is not possible to receive the parcel and the postal delivery man cannot deliver it to the neighbors, the parcel will be taken to a pick-up location. You will be notified immediately by the parcel service.

You are responsible for picking up/receiving your package. Should your package be returned to us, for example because you were unable to accept or pick it up, there is the possibility to have it resent by us. This against payment of shipping costs.

You are also responsible for entering the correct (delivery) address. Should your order be returned to us because the parcel service was unable to deliver it due to an incorrect address, there is the possibility to have it sent by us again. This against payment of shipping costs.

Shipping and packaging costs

For shipping the order, the standard rates of PostNL or another parcel service are used.
For orders over €100 within the Netherlands, Eindhoven Dakar by Piet Hein Eek will take care of the shipping costs (excluding its discount offers).
Shipping costs for small (flat) orders that fit through the mailbox (letterbox mail) are € 4,50. Larger orders fall under parcel post up to 10 kg, the shipping costs are then:
€ 6,50 (PostNL).
All this applies to deliveries within the Netherlands.

Furniture that cannot be delivered by parcel service, we deliver within the Netherlands with an external carrier. The price of these deliveries depends on the product and the delivery location and will be communicated by e-mail.

Your order will be carefully packaged and gifts will be beautifully wrapped (free of charge) by us.

Exchanges and returns

You have 14 days reflection period regarding the return of your order. Within this period you can return the items to us, provided they are in undamaged condition; unopened and in their original packaging. Once the package has arrived with us, you will receive your payment back as soon as possible, but in any case within 14 days.

Please note that when returning items, the terms and conditions of the relevant postal carrier apply and these costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Costs of damage and loss are also the responsibility of the buyer. The amount of the returned item (excluding shipping costs) will be refunded to you.

Please note that SALE items cannot be returned.

Complaints/Warranty

Do you have any complaints regarding the delivered goods or other issues? Please contact us within 48 hours after delivery of your package at winkel@pietheineek.nl and we will do everything possible to find a solution as soon as possible. Basically, you have one month standard warranty on your product, this starts when you receive the product.

Transportation damage

All orders are shipped by us in accordance with PostNL’s General Terms and Conditions. Should you receive a damaged shipment, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt by emailing winkel@pietheineek.nl. An arrangement will then be made with you about returning the shipment and your products will be replaced by us free of charge.

Please note that if you forget to notify us regarding transportation damage or fail to do so within the stipulated 48-hour period, your warranty rights will be voided. Of course, we ask that you carefully read the terms and conditions of the postal carrier you use to return the package yourself as well. If return shipments arrive to us damaged (without prior notice of damage) and have not been sent in accordance with the postal carrier’s terms and conditions, your warranty will be voided and we reserve the right to hold you liable for any damages incurred. We therefore recommend that you choose insured return shipping when you return a shipment.

Seller’s failure to fulfill purchase agreement

If, after receipt of the total amount stated on the order confirmation, the delivery of your order has not taken place within four weeks, you have the right to dissolve the contract with us and you may request a refund of the amount you have paid. This applies only in the event that no other arrangements have been made by us with you regarding the time of delivery and/or if we fail to notify you of a possible delay in the delivery of items.

Price anomalies

We reserve the right to price variations. We will notify you of any price deviations or changes. You then have the option to rescind the purchase agreement.

Privacy Statement

In accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (AVG), Eindhoven Dakar by Piet Hein Eek declares that all address information and personal data provided by you will be used solely for the purpose of processing the order. Personal data will not be resold or made available to third parties.

Data you enter while placing an order or sending a message is stored on our processor’s servers, and our payment system provides a level of security appropriate to the data to be processed and takes adequate measures to protect data from loss or any form of unlawful processing.
